A truly great story delving into so many layers of the human experience. The reader walks in the shoes of this physician feeling her dedication, her compassion and the anguish of her betrayal and the relief of her resurrection. Within the scope of my reading, this novel provides more information than full scale documentaries on medical subjects but also wraps and delivers the facts in the most heartfelt human narrative. I now have even more respect for the accomplishments of modern medicine while also gaining more empathy for the fact that technology is still very much a human endeavor.
