Tucker Carlson

For the Murdochs, Tucker Carlson had become more trouble than he was worth

Fox News is a Right Wing conspiracy outlet. They have cultivated and groomed a loyal audience using slogans like Fair and Balanced and We Report You Decide as part of a very clever campaign to somehow make white supremacy paranoia, The Great Replacement Theory, motivate angry white men to watch, to identify and to vote against anything or anyone who threatens their sense of pious entitlement. Murdoch has been extremely skilled in developing this counter culture into mainstream culture. But…. But I don’t believe he wants to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. I don’t think he really wants to destroy democracy or the ‘liberal’ media because he knows that the money is in the David and Goliath struggle. Tucker had believed himself to be Goliath and Murdoch said not in My House. Fox has cultivated an appetite for hate and lies but Murdoch set some limits. Now we’ll see if these fear mongers thrive on their own.

75 years; A most Wonderful Birthday

I almost thought it wouldn’t happen. Our daughter Lauren and husband Sam live such busy lives with her job and all her boys school and sports activities. We weren’t going to travel to Charlotte for the weekend and didn’t want her to come all that way to Hendersonville but I wanted so much to see her and the boys that I thought for awhile we might miss them until maybe they came closer camping this summer. The sadness I felt at that prospect was consuming so I tried to figure out a compromise for travel and thought of Crowders Mountain where we had met up before. This became our agreed upon plan but it too presented logistical problems because Tess can’t hike and I’m pretty disabled myself after the surgery for sciatica. But in the last minutes of planning Lauren suggested that we all meet at the VERONÉT Vineyards and Winery near Crowders Mountain. And so we did and so we had a wonderful afternoon. We got a bottle of wine and Sam bought a huge charcuterie platter. Lauren brought me a tray of pasteries and the boys made me Birthday Cards. The card that Lauren gave me, the words were so sweet they bought tears to my eyes. I played catch with Nolan and we met a nice lady who was there with her mom and their rescue dog Cooper, a black Cocker Spaniel. We became quick friends and she took our pictures. Holly was recuperating from her surgery so she was here today while Dexter was home but all in all it was a very happy day and a very Happy Birthday for me.

When I was young I just assumed that old people had it made. That they didn’t have many feelings and they just had their little old people issues but it all didn’t mean much. I heard advertisements for home health and loneliness and the laughingly hysterical Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!!!

Well it’s all so different now that I’ve suddenly grown old. The aches and the pains are very real as are all the other feelings. We miss our family, we miss our youth and the strength and skills we used to take for granted. And yes, we feel lonely and that hurts too. We have everybody and everything but despite that we don’t feel like we have it made. Getting older brings its own set of worries and the sensitivities are much like a child’s. Today was a most wonderful day. Today I have my wife Tess who I love with all my heart but yes, we spend too much time fighting and hurting each other. I think back to our honeymoon for those few days in Charleston when we had far more love than money but now we have our baby girl who has her own babies and those babies are too big for me to carry and they have their busy busy lives… but they were all there with me and for me and I am so very very very Blessed as I say to myself one more time

Happy Birthday 🎂

I have found YouTube to be a tremendous resource for just about everything in the realm of products but now this… tranquility, beauty and peace of mind. Somehow this video found me by whatever algorithm but it’s almost by Devine intervention. It’s so wonderful to be able to visit such beauty in this world, know that garden of Eden still exits and that your producers have found and preserved it for us.

Bolt - 1000 Reasons to Love our Bolt

March 2023

I’ve watched 100 videos about Bolts and other EV’s and yours is one of the Best! Love your honest yet positive enthusiasm. I’ve had our 2023 Premier for a month, drive it everywhere, everyday and love every minute of it. Silky smooth, quick and quiet ride. I traded in our 2020 Fit which was a nice runabout but the Chevy sits a little higher, great view of the road and very easy to drive. It also feels bigger and more secure on the highway. 99.9% of our driving is within 30 miles but I kept our hybrid CRV for longer trips for the time being. This gives us a chance to drive both types of vehicles for comparison but I can say after the first thousand miles the all EV will be our future. As battery range and infrastructure improvements continue there will be no reason to fill up with gas, get oil changes etc.etc. Etc.

Best of luck and Thanks!

April 17, 2023

I’m back after driving our Bolt for over 1000 miles and having the 240 charger installed and paid for by Chevy. Bottom line, this is the best car we’ve ever driven. My wife just loves it for its smooth ride, total comfort, safety features and Bose sound system. It feels great on the interstate and that’s a big deal. I see these tiny little smart cars and mini’s and I appreciate the intention to save on the use of gas but WOW this Bolt gives the feeling of a full size car and all I do is plug it in for a few hours a week. It’s funny that you mention the Equinox because I’m looking forward to driving that when it comes out to see if I will trade in our CRV Hybrid. I mean, the CRV Hybrid has been a great car but once you go EV there is no reason to use any gas or oil etc. All Electric only makes sense and I hope and expect that the technologies including increased battery/mileage capacity will continue to improve.

We got our BOLT EUV SUPREME in January 23 and now with over 2000 miles we love the Bolt more than any other car, years of Hondas including Accords, CRV’s Fit and Odessy, all great cars… this is my first Chevy and the absolute best car I’ve ever driven. Quick as lightning and smooth as silk. I’ll never go back to ICE. But, why did they discontinue? I’m guessing the Ultium battery pack. I’m setting my sites on the Blazer EV in three years. I’m hoping they still give access to ApplePlay at that time.

Rug and home google review

Check out this review of Rug & Home on Google Maps https://maps.app.goo.gl/aYXv1U1skMDu4WtG6?g_st=i

Lisa was very friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in the door. She ushered us to the 5x8 rug row and invited us to look and mark the ones liked and left us alone to look. When she rejoined us we talked a little more about our living room colors. Lisa pointed out a contemporary earth toned tight weave that looked very attractive at first glance and ended up being the one we got along with a few southwest motif throw pillows. All this compliments well with our wood floors, dark brown stressless furniture and large wall photos of the red rocks of Arizona.

No sales pressure, no steering, just helpful, friendly and knowledgeable support. We have found that Rug and Home is a great place to shop and do a sort of remodel/refresh by getting a new rug every few years.

Is this how America ends, not with a band but with a whimper… or both?

Two Black Democrats expelled by Tennessee GOP over gun violence protests, while a white lawmaker survives

Republicans voted on whether to remove the Democratic legislators for participating in an unauthorized gun safety protest on the House floor last week.

Republican legislators in Tennessee voted Thursday to expel two Black Democrats from the state House over their protests on the chamber floor against gun violence last week, while a vote to expel a third, white Democratic representative fell short.

Donald Trump is now facing multiple felony charges one of which is for using political contributions to pay hush money to a porn star. Instead of being shamed and shunned by his party, the Republicans are rallying around him and he is raising millions of dollars to run for president again. In his gloating speech he said “they couldn’t beat us at the ballot box so they are coming up with false charges because they hate me. Lie upon lie upon lie and he is cheered on by adoring fans who love him more the more he lies, thwarts the law and tears down the institutional walls of legitimate government and democracy to be replaced by abject loyalty to him, Trump.

Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone? The words and wisdom of Joni Mitchell talking about trees are now the words that describe our democracy. They are paving over the truth with self serving lies and calling the desperate protest of grieving parents over their slain children, an insurrection? It feels as though our country has gone mad. That everything we thought we knew about truth, justice and American way is being trampled under Trump, Trumpsters and Trumpism. White supremacy is a cancer that is eating away at our civil society. White supremacy that manifests in an aggressive defense. White supremacy that claims that white people are in danger of being disarmed by the coloreds and so it’s something we must do to preserve our heritage, our values and our ways of life.

White supremacy and the paranoia it breeds that makes us fear and hate others will ultimately cause us to turn on and destroy ourselves.

 Amazon Essential Sweat Shirts

They are soft, thick and fluffy in comparison to my under armor and the same or better quality while lower in price. It’s a quick throw on I can use at night when the sun goes down and keep one in the car if there’s an unexpected chill in the air when we’re out. I’ve now used it several times for that purpose when we’re out of town or out for dinner and there’s a chill in the air. It’s there when I need it without having to think to wear or bring a jacket.

Coffee Mug Warmer, Smart Coffee Cup Warmer with Pressure-Induced Auto On/Off, Coffee Accessories for Home Office Desk

Brand: COFFEE MUG WARMER

I start every morning with a cup of Starbucks made in my Keurig. I add half/half and zap in th microwave for 60 seconds. It’s Hot. A little too hot to drink so I let it cool down. It’s fine for a few minutes but within 15 I’m heading downstairs to zap it again. This process may repeat 3 times per cup so…. The coffee cup warmer!

Thanks to,Amazons amazing delivery system I got mine this morning, plugged it in and had my first cup. It Works Great! I put it on my wooden bed stand and placed my freshly made cup on top. The gravity pressure switch clicks on immediately. I got involved with various little projects and came back over a two hours period of time with each visit providing perfectly hot coffee. I’m so excited I wanted to write this review ASAP. I have considered everything from cup insulation to a mini microwave/but this cup warmer does the job exactly as it needs to be done. It turns the heat on every time I put the cup down on it. When I’m done I just put my cup on the table and Not on the warmer so as not to cook the cup.
