Tesla - the good the bad and the…

I’ve had a bit of a love hate relationship with Tesla. It began when Tesla came out with a 100 thousand dollar electric car that our friend Roger bought but we never rode in. I just had dinner with him the other night and he still loves the Tesla. I couldn’t even dream of owning one back then but because our stock values have grown, I’m in a position to consider buying one. Not for 100k but maybe 60k. This video of how they make the car is extremely informative and interesting. Cookie cutter manufacturing… create a great recipe and then crank out the cookies. Don’t have a million flavors and don’t tamper with it every year just to tamper but make changes that make it better. Henry Ford stuck with the Model T until it was completely played out but he was very much on the right track. Make it faster, make it cheaper and make it better. You can get any color you want as long as it’s black. If I get a Tesla it will be because the technology is the leading edge. Because the battery is the longest range and because the price has come down to something I can justify. The reasons I would not buy a Tesla is because Elon started making flame throwers, that’s when I sold my stock and because he has said some antisemiticx statements and was or is a Trumpster and yet… and yet he is making a great car and is committed to improving our environment. The fact that he supported Trump or something he called absolute free speech is offensive but it might also prevent Trump from undermining the electric car movement.

Interesting low key review. I enjoyed and appreciated not having someone yelling at me with overhype. I don’t have a Tesla but I’m thinking about it and yours was one of the best non sales pitch sales pitches. I bought the Bolt EUV and absolutely Love it! The all EV is so much better in every way than an ICE or even the CRV hybrid that I will trade out in the next 6 months. That’s where I’m thinking about something with longer range than our current 270. Yes the Bolt charges to higher than its rated range. The point you make repeatedly is that public chargers will become more numerous and that will completely eliminate range anxiety. In the meantime I plug in on level 2 at home a few hours a week and driving is nothing but fun and almost free. Thank you for taking time to do your video. I’m glad you love your Tesla. I’m thinking about the Model Y long range. I’m also thinking I need to rent one from Turo so I can test drive one before I commit. In any case, continued best of luck to you and Thanks Again!

Thank you so much! I would encourage you to Turo a MY. I did that for the Reno Air races and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you do order a MY please consider using my referral code as well both get some free supercharging. Thanks again for watching.
