Novice Ride Fletcher Park - Hoopers Creek Loop

Beautiful Fletcher Community Park has something for Everyone!

The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club came out in styles sporting wheels of all kinds to conquer the miles. From 29ers, Sport Hybrids, Compact and Road
to the 3 wheeled recumbents the Trikes even showed.

While the roadies were off like the wind to the hills,

the recumbents layed back to enjoy quieter thrills.

Fletcher Community Park has several crushed gravel and paved trails winding through the woods and around the perimeter of the park

I previewed the route the other day riding from home at Wash Creek to Fletcher Park and the Hoopers Creek Loop.
The quality of the ride was greatly impeded by road construction on Howard Gap Road begining at Clear Creek Road and lasting several miles until the last incline into Fletcher.
The Bad News is that this construction is scheduled to last 3 or more years.

The Good News is that when completed it will include Bike Lanes on either side of the road!

The Fletcher Flyer will have a new start/finish location this year:
The Fletcher Flyer, sponsored by the Blue Ridge Bike Club features several rides on different challenge levels.
