What to know: Hendersonville votes on $10M transportation bond March 3

Pedestrian safety is one of the city’s major goals. Hendersonville had the highest pedestrian fatality rate in the state among cities in its population range of 10,000-25,000 between 2010 and 2019, according to a document from the city of Hendersonville’s website.

The Blythe Street Multi-Use Path, planned between U.S. 64 and N.C. 191 along Blythe Street, a two-lane road with no sidewalk, is one of the signature projects the bond would fund, though the majority of around $4 million of the funding for that project would come from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the Times-News reported.
