Robert and Carolyn @ Biltmore

What a beautiful, beautiful day!

And what better ways to spend it than with our very dear friends Robert and Carolyn in one of the most beautiful settings on earth, Antler Village on Biltmore Estate.
Yes we have been here before and I told you about our first tour of the Tiffany Lamps Exhibit. Well the exhibit was about to draw to a close and it was well worth a second look. In fact I would strongly advise anyone who lives in the Greater Hendersonville area to invest in Biltmore's annual pass and visit, as if you lived in the grandeur of Biltmore, as often as possible.

Today we were able to enjoy a sumptuous lunch at The Bistro, a casual outdoor cafe surrounded by the flora and ambiance of Biltmore. The food was excellent but in my opinion the Bloody Mary is out of this world. The Wine, of course, is fresh from the Biltmore Winery as the vegetables are straight from Biltmore Gardens. The Tiffany Exhibit honors the days in American History when American Hand Craftsmanship was the worlds benchmark and where each lamp was designed after works of natural beauty and each piece of glass cut, placed and secured by an American Craftsman. Robert is an expert Wood Turner among his diverse skills. He has hand crafted his own "Tiffanys" in his time and had the battle scars to prove it. Robert was able to explain how each piece of wood defines for  the Craftsman its own unique art form. His knowledge and insights into the crafts, including George Nakashima Woodworking, made this visit more meaningful and enjoyable than the last.
