Planned Route From Wash Creek to Lake Julia

Great ride from Wash Creek Drive to Beautiful Lake Julia in DuPont Forest!
I planned the route on Ride with GPS having never ridden or driven on several of the roads before and headed out with blind faith using the turn by turn navigation directions provided via Ride with GPS. I created the route with the primary goal being to get to Lake Julia and avoid using Crab Creek Road as much as possible. The first hill is Ewarts Hill Road that runs up through the Dundragon neighborhood. Then get on Lakeside Drive that takes you all the way out of Laurel Park and past Osceola Lake. Then onto Old Kanuga Rd.,  a short hop on Kanuga Rd  and then onto Kanuga Lake Road which is very enjoyable. You can pull into the Kanuga Conference Center at Kanuga Lake for refreshments and rest if you like. Kanuga Lake Rd butts into Evans Rd. turn Left and join Hidden Lake Rd that takes you on to Crab Creek Rd. It's a short hop 1.8 mi. on Crab Creek until you turn Left onto Old CCC Rd. Then get ready to peddle starting at 2288 to 2633 ft. in about 3 miles. It really doesn't sound like much but it gets your attention.
The first gravel road I encountered after climbing Old CCC Road was Skyfall Rd which leads to Buck Forest (blocked to cars) which leads down into DuPont Forest. If driving I could park at this location on Skyfall and enter Dupont through this gated entrance to Buck Forest Road. Buck Forest is a wide trail/road that eventually leads out of DuPont Forest onto the Staton Road parking entrance. To go to the Lake, Turn Left on Conservation Rd in Dupont Forest (not labeled on map) then about 1 mile to Lake Julia (labeled as Summit Lake-Google Earth. There is a great place to pull off on the Left to view the lake before getting to the lake Julia Rd turn off on left.

Then follow Conservation Road until it intersects with Reasonover Road (beautiful curved downhill paved). Sharp Right takes you back to a small lake (not labeled). Right takes you to Cascade Lake Road heading home. Yet to be explored; Reasonover Lake Left on Reasonover Rd.

My phone battery went dead at the halfway point  of the trip so I had to provide my own turn by turn navigation. I neglected to turn Left off of Crab Creek on to Hidden Lake on the return which kept me on Crab Creek longer than I felt comfortable. So a few things I learned: Take my Battery Charger ( don't want to be out there without a phone), bring food and water, have durable tires. This was the last trip on my stock tires I changed to

Schwalbe Marathon Plus RLX 700 x 45 C Bicycle Tire, Black Wire Beaded

They are Heavy but so is the bike and they should be Safer!
